The Theater & fashion often work hand in hand. Feeding off & imitating one another. The "Ballet" look has come & gone many times in fashion in clothing & accessories. I mean what little girl did not dream at one time or another of being that graceful costumed creature upon the stage. So now and then we can enjoy it in our attire & dance with grace through our day to day lives....

Ballet is, as the internet tells me, "a formalized kind of performance dance, which originated in the Italian Renaissance courts of the 15th century & was further developed in France, Russia, & Britain as a concert dance form."

Whether you are a fan of viewing ballet or not, its mark on fashion is undeniable. Through out the decades it has moved & shifted, but in all its forms it still pays homage to its theatrical origins and "delicate" natures.

Classic, Funky, Girly, Ethnic or Fun! Women have been breaking out in this flat ballet or tied ankle look for decades & it shows no sign or ever ending, just reinventing.
